BRoW4 Bike Run or Walk 4

About

Hello and Welcome My name is Anna and I am the Founder of BRoW4 a non-profit volunteer run fundraising group. We organise events where people can choose to Bike Run or Walk with or without their 4-legged friends and help raise money for non- government funded charities. In 2014, I was a volunteer for Magpas Helimedix, which later became Magpas Air Ambulance.  As a volunteer I organised many coffee mornings and attended many events to help raise money and awareness for this charity. It was after watching the London Olympics, which my son and crew from the RAF were catering for all the security at the Olympics, that I came up with the idea of organising a Bike Run or Walk for Magpas around Ferry Meadows Country Park in Peterborough. Family and friends all pulled together at this event. Supporters of Magpas were invited to this event and could choose to Bike Run or Walk around two tracks - 5km or 8km in Ferry Meadows, Peterborough. Saturday 25th July 2015 saw the first BRoWforMagpas. Due to the success this event, and the wonderful turnout, I was approached by a representative of Dogs Trust, and was asked if the group would consider organising an event for them. After speaking with the now newly formed committee and changing our name to BRoW4 we decided that organising a dog walk for Dogs Trust would be a great idea.   Sunday 3rd January 2016. The First Sunday of the Year Dog Walk, saw the first of many dog walks that we have now organise. The first two events took place around the village of Earith in Cambridgeshire. We have now moved the event to Hinchingbrooke Country Park Huntingdon. PE29 6DB. Here we have a guided two mile walk around the park returning to the Countryside Hall where we have hot homemade refreshments for all those that want to come and look at all the stalls, selling everything from jam to jewellery from dog food to dog coats. BRoW4 have supported Dogs Trust, Canine Partners, Therapy Dogs Nationwide and Medical Detection Dog. Saturday 30th July 2016 saw the second successful BRoW4 Magpas Air Ambulance. It was also the year that we introduced dogs, and a third track, which now meant contestants could choose to do 5km, 8km or 12.  After this event we asked supporters of all Air Ambulances to join us at Ferry Meadows. This would turn out to be the last time we would do this event at Ferry Meadows as this would be moved to Hinchingbrooke Country Park. to incorporate a family fun filled day. On Saturday 30th September 2017 BRoW4 organised something totally different. The Gildenburgh Water Underwater Challenge, raising money for the Royal National Lifeboat institution. This was the first time we had organised anything on this scale and was supported by teams of scuba divers from as far away as Scotland. It was a fantastic success and the RNLI benefitted with a cheque more than £600.00 thank to the help of the stalls that came to this event.  This will be an annual event. So, if you would like to learn to scuba dive or would like to have a buddy to dive, then this is the day for you to come. Sunday April 22 nd   2018. This is our fourth event of the year. Spring in the Park Family Fun Day. This is for a small local Huntingdon charity that the BRoW4 committee choose. This year we are supporting Godmanchester Food Bank and Huntingdon Community Action Projects. H.C.A.P entrance to this event is a tin, packet or jar of food. There will be stalls galore in the Countryside Hall and outside on the green.
